Where escape seems possible;
A choice not joined but arranged;
A sacrifice to love
Safely guarded against its demands.

The little gap becomes
Fear of love and hate cherished,
Wanting Love to be what It is not:
Can what was never absent be lost,
Or what can be lost except what never was?

What is true is never absent,
And here the little gap closes —
What appeared to be two
Is now Known to be One.
